AWG
U.S. standard set of non-ferrous wire conductor sizes. The “gauge” means the diameter. Non-ferrous includes copper and also aluminum and other materials.
Beam Angle
The angle between the two directions for which the intensity is 50% of the maximum intensity as measured in a plane through the nominal beam centerline.
Color Rendering Index (CRI)
The measure of a light source’s ability to render the color of objects “correctly”, as compared with a reference source with comparable color temperature.
Correlated Color Temperature (CCT)
A specification that defines the color appearance, “warmth”, or “coolness”, of a white LED, by relating it to that of a reference source heated to a particular temperature, and measured in degrees in Kelvin (K).
Digital Multiplex Signal (DMS)
Industry standard protocol for the one-way transmission of dimmer intensity or other data from a controller to a DMX compatible product. Sometimes called, DMX 512, it may be used to control up to 512 channels over a series of DMX connections. Think of each “Channel” as a “Color”, so if you have an RGB light, this would use 3 “Channels” or “Colors”.
